Thank you Doris for sharing this story. I had something happen to me when I was in an accident at age 13, I tried covering my scars with some old make-up I found in my mother’s stuff. I got a horrible infection, so you are right…what could have happened? This is why I started Beauty Alert!.

I put a very expensive make-up on my face after having eye surgeries, cancer surgery on my face, plastic surgery and skin grafting. After many appointments and healing, I decided to put some make-up on for Church on Sunday. No problem all day, all night. But when I got up didn’t look in the mirror, just did bathroom stuff, made coffee and proceeded to read my paper, After a while I felt my left jaw itching, the the right side. Finished my coffee and looked in the mirror, and my face was beet red, with blotches all over, all the way down to my chest. And itching!!! Got so bad by lunch, I called the doctor and went to see him. Got a prescription for steroids and pills for the itching. The make-up had expired in March.. 3 days later and am still itching with red blotches. Good thing I wiped it off with ponds lotion before I went to bed. Don’t even want to think of what would happened if I hadn’t. Will check everything after this.

That must be one of the most horrifying make up stories I’ve ever heard! Now I’m thinking about all the little samples I’ve stowed away below my cabinet in the bathroom. I’m thinking it’s a good time to toss it ALL!
